Here’s my new promo postcard, back and front. I realised that I only contacted most of the publishers here when I’d just left college, so I thought it was about time to boast of my ten published books, multiple awards, stella reviews, enormous swollen ego/head etc… :)

This is the first post in a series of work from my archives, older stuff that predates this blog.

The work below I did at college, it was for a Grimm’s fairy tale called The White Snake.

This image actually won an award, I was given a Highly Commended in the Macmillan Children’s Book Awards 2003. I went all the way to Birmingham to be presented with a certificate and some money (I think), and to see my work exhibted with the other entrants.

The author of my first commissioned work, multi-award winning, Geraldine McCaughrean seems to have a new website.

Here’s what she says about Fig’s Giant:

It’s Gulliver in Lilliput… but seen through the eyes of a Lilliputian child. A first picture book by JAGO - the newest, most talked-about talent on the art scene”

Pollution hits Neverland in Peter Pan, the Sequel August 30, 2006

It is a book that has been one of the best-kept secrets in theliterary world, its contents zealously guarded by legally bindingconfidentiality agreements. Those in the know were sworn to secrecy, while its eventual publication is due to attract much ceremony.

But now, just six weeks before readers around the world are due tolearn what happens to Peter Pan, Wendy and the Lost Boys, the lid hasbeen lifted - if only partially - on the contents of Peter Pan inScarlet, the long-awaited and officially sanctioned sequel to J MBarrie’s children’s classic.

A copy of the manuscript, written by the award-winning Britishchildren’s author Geraldine McCaughrean, has been leaked to The NewYork Times, which has published a summary of the plot….. Read More

The author of my book, Fig’s Giant, multi-award winning Gerladine McCaughrean, is also the author of the official sequel to Peter Pan, which has apparently been leaked somewhat to the New York Times….

The Big American Project February 6, 2006

Filed under: Illustration, The Big American Project — jagoillustration @ 9:55 am

I should have announced this a while ago, but I couldn’t quite believe I’d got the job to begin with….. My agent (Ronnie Herman) has got me an incredible project. I’m illustrating a children’s Bible for Zondervan, this is a huge amount of work as there are approximately 180 illustrations to complete, most of which are full spread, all of which are in full colour.

I’m currently working on roughs and am nearing the end, the deadline for the whole project is June so it’s going to be hard work. With the publishers permission I hope to post some roughs and then some colour work as I go along….To see any related posts click The Big American Project under the Categories list on the left hand side.
